Reporting, Texas Style

I worked for Davey Joe back in the early 1980s for the Star-Telegram's Washington buro -- pre-McClatchy, pre-Knight-Ridder, pre-Disney, pre-ABC. There's lots of folks in D.C. from Texas who'll make the country better when they head back home following the end of this presidency, but Davey Joe is not one of them. His aw-shucks demeanor has always masked a keen political and journalistic mind. Our capital's loss is Texas' capital's gain. Cheers, Mark Thompson
